The 180SX is arriving soon...
After far too long away, I've decided to get back into an S-Chassis. Here it is - my 1997 180SX Type G that'll be landing in just a couple weeks.
The SR20DE was swapped with a blacktop turbo SR sometime before I acquired the car.
It came with a partial set of kouki aero, and N1 ducts. I know the sunroof models are pretty popular, but personally I was searching for a slicktop. The paint is Bayside Blue.
Before it left Japan, to save on shipping costs and take advantage of the exchange rate, I picked up and had installed a Hot Road front lip, kouki spoiler, and a new set of D-MAX D1 SPEC coilovers. The lip was a particularly exciting find for me: brand new for under $100 at UpGarage.
Immediate plans are to:
- install the rest of the aero
- lower it
- 5-lug swap
- install a headunit
- enjoy the car as much as I can before it gets tucked away for the winter
I'll probably wait until spring to get the aero painted. It just wasn't feasible in Japan due to materials shortages. Some things I need to sort out over the winter are fixing the pop-ups, getting the AC system operational, and either fixing or replacing the gauge cluster. (Fuel and temp gauges spike to max and the tach is wonky.)
